Determination of the induced electrical currents in wall reinforcements

Calculations of the expected level of electric currents induced in building steel reinforcement nets induced by large current-limiting reactor coils in the new high-power laboratory. The project also included full scale tests for some cases. Excessive currents might damage the walls and roofs through cracks caused by heating. This high power laboratory is rated for 3 phase 1 second tests with power up to 30 MVA and currents up to 50 kA.
